Ultra micro mini laptops – hit the spot yet?

without comments

Recently I got hold of a Samsung NC10 laptop. Well, bought it for my wife, but you know who’ll end up using it.

Got me thinking – small form factor laptops; how come they were so late in coming out? They are an obvious size to build at, so it’s amazing that they weren’t availble before. I took the plunge last year with the first eee models that came out. Which was fine, but can’t help wish I’d stuck around for a little longer till one of the better models came out.

Of course, I’m writing this on the NC10 now and I must say – it’s great to use. doesn’t have any of the finger-sized problems that my eee has – it’s pretty much as good as a ‘normal’ laptop.

Note to self – buy another one.

Next steps though – when are Apple going to bring one out? Will they ever – strictly, does it fly in the face of them being leaders in technology, rather than followers? Knowing their secrecy in such matters, a watch this space rule will apply, I’d say.
