Hi… I’m a northern based fella, Yorkshire to be more precise. I’ve had an interest in geography of sorts for ages, and was lucky enough that it formed part of a career for me. I was one of those sad folk that used to pick up a road atlas at an early age and pour over it. Little did I know that years later it would bend me into a career in GIS – Geographic Information Systems – that really have led me down the road that I’ve now taken.

So I’ve been working in various places since ’93 in GIS, and decided to start blogging to share some ideas I had. Not only does my interest take in maps, but anything else that surrounds it – the technology and the travel. I’m not into cars as such, just the ability to zoom about.

I guess we’re lucky to live in an age that it’s possible to get around the planet pretty quick. Why on earth wouldn’t you be interested in taking in as much of the place as you can?
